Position Summary:
 
Under the direction of the Branch manager, the lead teller is responsible for teller operational and client experience duties as follows,     
  
        Typical Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Provides daily assistance to teller staff when processing transactions and assisting customers to ensure Bank policies and operational procedures are followed.
  • Provides necessary approvals/overrides for transactions within Bank policy.By approving and overriding transactions, the Lead Teller takes responsibility for the transaction along with the teller.
  • Schedules teller staff using the teller staffing model to ensure customer service needs are met while optimizing the use of the Bank’s resources.
  • Responsible for remaining knowledgeable on fraud or security bulletins distributed within the branch and ensuring communications reach all tellers.
  • Responsible for reviewing deposits meeting established criteria to determine whether holding funds to delay availability under Reg CC is appropriate.
  • Maintains monthly teller reporting of outages utilizing the Teller Over /Short General Ledger account following Bank policy.
  • Provide and model exception customer experience to staff and clients.
     
       Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
  • Knowledge of all teller functions
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial transactions
  • Skill in performing typical financial transactions and teller functions accurately
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Tellers, Customers, and Management
     
        Qualifications 
  • 2 years of branch/Teller experience (exposure to teller functions, Personal Banker and platform activities, customer contact, handling of large amounts of currency etc.).
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field, and two years of bank teller experience or four years of counting, receiving, disbursing and balance money, and executing financial transactions; or Equivalent combinations of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
