Position Summary: Carver Federal Savings Bank is currently hiring an experienced Relationship Manager to support a new suite of small-dollar credit products (initially up to $15,000, with higher loan amounts likely to be introduced based upon product performance). The Relationship Manager will act as the liaison between the Branches, Credit and Operations areas overseeing the fulfillment of credit applications for both consumer and small business loan products. In addition, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for maximizing client relationships, developing new business, and maintaining effective internal relationships to support excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the end to end process for loan applications received from the retail branch network.
- Review applications for QC and to determine next steps leading to approval or denial.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient follow up on applications.
- Manage and provide regular reporting updated on loan portfolio performance.
- Propose partnerships and other opportunities to generate new business for the credit products.
- Propose new products and services to meet customer needs for consumer loans and bankcard programs, and assist with the development and marketing of these products.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients, internal partners and external stakeholders (e.g., community development organizations).
- Assist with the design and execution of promotional strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Background and Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a banking or financial institution, with specific expertise in consumer and small business credit decisions.
- Consumer and small business underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge of retail and commercial loan products (including sales, service and marketing).
- Excellent customer service, marketing, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Facility with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with partners and manage relationships.
- Knowledge of Fiserv and Easy-Lender system highly desirable.
- Knowledge of urban markets and community banking.
Education:
Four year college degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field preferred
