BSA/AML Officer
Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Counsel, the BSA/AML Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing the company’s BSA/AML compliance functions; staying up-to-date with new compliance laws and regulations; providing continuous monitoring of customer activities as it relates to Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Office Of The Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and overseeing and managing the activities of team of BSA Analysts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Enhancing and maintaining a BSA/AML program
- Maintaining policies and procedures
- Conducting and supervising investigations
- Developing and implementing compliance training programs
- Working with management to develop and enhance products and services in compliance with applicable AML/OFAC laws and regulations
- Ensuring the bank maintains a sound internal compliance structure, involving reporting and suspicious activity monitoring
- Maintaining awareness of AML/OFAC regulatory changes
- Composing compliance-related written material to communicate information to senior management and staff
- Overseeing and managing the activities and workflow of team of BSA Analysts
Background and Experience:
- Experienced BSA/AML officer, with an advanced knowledge of the USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC & AML regulatory requirements
- Broad-based knowledge of banking transactions
- Strong ability to quickly grasp, identify and address BSA and OFAC issues throughout the business of banking (including products, operations and system as appropriate)
- 4-year college degree, preferred
- Proactive and requires minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Very detail oriented
- Proficient with various computer environments and software, including BSA monitoring software, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer
- CAMS and consumer regulation experience are great pluses.
