The Senior Director of Technology Role
 
The Sr. Director of Technology will provide overall vision, leadership, and hands-on support for developing and implementing technology initiatives and solutions. The Sr. Director of Technology will be accountable for three primary areas.
 
Technology Vision and Leadership
  • Create the technology strategy and roadmap for company-wide initiatives and ensuring their successful delivery.
  • Identify innovative products, services, and tools to differentiate Carver from other Financial Institutions, while ensuring operational efficiencies.
  • Assess and implement appropriate digital solutions to help grow new business and deepen current relationships to stay competitive (Websites, online banking, mobile/tablet banking, CRM, branch systems, etc.).
  • Assess ‘big data’ needs and recommend solutions to improve customer analytics and interpretation.
  • Recommend appropriate payment strategies and solutions to drive additional revenue and solutions for multiple lines of business.
  • Drive an Omni-channel approach to systems and products across multiple business lines to ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Drive a mobile-first strategy across the bank.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in financial services and competitive analyses.
  • Determine the organizational structure and resources needed to support execution of the technology vision.  
Technology Management
  • Ensure core banking systems (Fiserv) are operational, supported, and operating according to established service level agreements (SLA).
  • Identify solutions to improve core banking architecture and end-to-end processing to ensure operational efficiencies.
  • Deliver new and existing projects in accordance with business defined work and quality methods.
  • Maintain existing ancillary systems and databases to keep the business running.
  • Maintain new and existing vendor management relationship and budgets.
  • Determine the organizational structure and resources needed to support maintenance of an exceptional core banking architecture.
Line of Business Support
  • Work directly with other business unit leaders to identify technology support needs and create a shared vision of support functions and delivery.
  • Interact with all levels of staff.
  • Oversee a team of IT support professionals.
Role Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field
  • Master's degree with technology preferred
  • 10 years' experience directing IT &operations within a banking/financial services environment
  • 5 years' experience creating advanced IT solutions with a focus on digital, mobile and data-driven technologies
  • 3+ years’ experience in vendor management & contract discussions
  • Knowledge of and experience with Fiserv Premier Core Banking Platform and supporting operating systems
  • Proven success at leading internal system management
  • Proven experience in IT strategic control
  • Demonstrated success in driving internal adoption
  • Exceptionally self-motivated with strong analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong analytical, strategic, project management, decision-making, problem-solving skills, communication skills and leadership abilities.
