        Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Carver Community Development Corporation, the Community Manager will help support the broader team’s focus to grow community business opportunities within underserved communities and across diverse segments, and to create integrated, actionable financial health roadmaps to help our communities thrive.

The candidate will be a liaison to build relationships and ensure financial education and product solutions are available to all within banks assigned community. This role is based in the field and works across several LOB with special focus on 7 branches to develop a community outreach and engagement program in partnership with senior management and branch managers. The candidate will be responsible for implementing community engagement in a meaningful way and will own the planning, execution, reporting, and involvement of events locally.

They will lead and coordinate a wide range of financial health initiatives in the community, while referring to cross line-of-business (Retail, P&I Banking, Lending). They will partner with the Retail Division to develop deep relationships with community leaders and key stakeholders and have a thorough understanding of any complex interdependencies of bank branches in the communities they serve. The candidate will also work closely with the local Corporate Responsibility representatives, along with members of our Retail banking, Commercial Lending, and Private & Institutional teams to ensure the local community benefits from the full suite of resources Carver has to offer. They will be an active member of the Leadership Team (MLT) providing weekly updates on events, success stories and opportunities in the community.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a community outreach and engagement program that builds community relationships.
  • Leverage bank book of business to engage the community in a meaningful way and preplan local programing and events to host in branches and offsite.
  • Build and manage the community engagement calendar, facilitate (and/or co-facilitate) regular financial health workshops, Carver Webinars/Seminars, and community events in and out of branches.
  • Own execution of the events ends to end from event outreach, in-branch awareness, customer, and community enrollment.
  • Report results based on event surveys to inform community teams on opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Branch Managers, Bankers and customer engagement, referrals from events and adoption of financial product solutions.
  • Review corporate sponsorship applications, prep necessary documentation in review for sponsorship committee approval.
  • Create team event involvement through LOB engagement. (Ex: Retail, P&I, Lending)
  • Attend customers & prospect networking events for relationship building and business development opportunities.
  • Participate in corporate partnership and collaboration adding valued solutions for deepening relationship and program development.
        REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES

  • Proven leadership experience with ability to influence across the firm and in the community, plus heavily organized and with both strong event coordination and project management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, peers, partners, and contacts.
  • Executive presence with strong presentation skills in small and large / public group settings
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach, strong time management and prioritization skills and a passionate, authentic, and bold team player
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and independent problem-solving skills
