Position/Title: 1st VP, Human Resources Officer

Reports to:      CEO
 

Position Summary:

The HR Officer is responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing Human Resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational development and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The HR Officer provides strategic leadership by articulating Human Resource needs and plans to the executive management team and to the board of directors.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission, strategic vision, and values.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of overall business objectives.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Working with the executive management team, establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, performance management, succession planning, retention, training and leadership development, compensation and benefits.
  • Manage key human resources vendors’ costs, performance and compliance.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, with recent experience in a publicly held organization.
  • Able to strategically and tactically evaluate and implement sophisticated HR related programs and initiatives.
  • Able to work with organizational leadership to build consensus around HR strategy and tactics.
  • Demonstrated background in talent and leadership management; as well as have a proven ability to attract and retain outstanding talent and assemble and motivate high performance teams.
  • Must have the ability to bring immediate credibility to the human resources function through his/her professional qualifications and leadership skills as well as project the highest levels of integrity.
  • Superior interpersonal, communications and presentation skills as well as proven organizational skills are required.
  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university.
  • MBA/MA or HR Certification preferred.
  • MS Office proficient.
  • Financial services experience preferred.
